Drugstore Reviews and Re-Views

I know that I'm pretty bad at reviewing drugstore products, and I apologize. It's not that I don't like them, and it's not that I think luxury products are inherently better. There are a number of drugstore gems I couldn't do my face without. I just don't think to review a lot of those products. Furthermore, drugstore foundations aren't exactly known for their shade ranges--finding something pale enough for me that isn't Pepto-Bismal pink takes a lot of effort.

Recently, I've been testing out two products that are new to me (L'oreal True Match foundation and Flower Beauty Color Play Creme Eyeshadows) and re-trying two products I always liked, but haven't used in ages (Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Black Cherry and Maybelline Full n' Soft mascara).

Here's the HD "face of the day" utilizing all 4 items:

Straight off the bat, I think we all can tell that Revlon Black Cherry is just not that flattering on me. I'm actually wearing it over MAC Beet lipliner to make it slightly more pink, but still, it just doesn't work with my skintone. It also makes my teeth look oddly yellow.

Now, let's be clear here: I recommend the Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick line often because the formulations are creamy, decently long-lasting, and relatively fragrance free. But over the years, I've come to prefer a more matte, long-wearing lipstick, so the Super Lustrous line no longer fits my needs. I give the overall formula a 5 out of 5, but I'm purging Black Cherry because it looks awful on me. I'll probably replace it with something more purple than plum, and in a long-wearing formula.

The Flower Beauty Color Play Creme Eyeshadow in Good As Marigold has been an absolute, 5 out of 5 love of mine for the past two weeks. The formula is extremely wet and creamy, sort of like a whipped mousse texture. Hence, the jar can be a bit messy. Flower staves this off by putting a little plastic lid inside the jar (to prevent the product from slopping everywhere). Actually, I think the packaging is pretty stellar overall; you can see the actual product through the bottom, the lid is air-tight, and the whole thing looks relatively sleek and pretty. A little goes a long way with this stuff. You'll definitely want to use an eye primer under this product, given how creamy it is, but I always use an eye primer anyway.

Naked face on left, one layer of L'oreal True Match in W1 on the right.

I purchased the L'oreal True Match foundation in W1 on a whim: it looked like it was pale with cool-yellow undertones. That's a tough find at the drugstore! And I'd heard good things.

I tried applying this product two ways: once with my fingers, and once with a damp Beauty Blender sponge (which is shown above). Using my fingers was a major fail. This product doesn't have a ton of slip to it, so it's hard to blend without some added moisture. The damp BB made things much easier; I'd assume this product would also work better over a layer of moisturizer. The shade W1 is darker than my neck, lighter than my face, which puts it in the N10 range.

You can get light to medium coverage with this foundation, depending on how you apply it and how much you layer, and the finish is relatively natural. It also feels pretty light-weight. But I noticed three bad things about this product:
  • it can transfer, if you put enough pressure on your face,
  • the SPF causes some flashback in flash photography, and
  • it's full of microshimmer.
The microshimmer and flashback are both visible in this SD photo--take a look at my forehead:

I look terrifying, I know...sorry.

L'oreal True Match's shade range is what's really impressive. And I've heard it's a great "mixer" if you're trying to thin out other foundations. But I personally wasn't wowed, and I've yet to love a foundation that's got shimmer in it. I'd give this one a 3 out of 5.

Last, but most certainly not least, I've been retrying Maybelline Full n' Soft mascara. I've been trying to figure out why I stopped using this stuff. The answer? I got distracted trying a lot of other products. While CoverGirl Clump Crusher is still more dramatic and more iron-clad against rain and humidity, Full n' Soft has reclaimed its place as my favorite "natural" mascara. I can put on one thin coat for a "is she wearing mascara?" sort of look, or layer it 3-4 times for a bit more drama with next to no clumping. Gorgeous stuff, definitely a 5 out of 5.

Makeup Bag Test + DTMtBD Beauty Sightings

I reorganize my makeup bag every couple of months, and I always like to test out the makeup and see what kind of looks I can make. To be honest, I rarely come up with anything new or exciting; I stick with my "clean face bright lips" wheelhouse and hope it always works.

You may notice two new-ish products here: Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Stain in Unapologetic and Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Pink Escape. I'm iffy on the Revlon matte balm--it's nice, but it doesn't last as long as the regular balm stains--but the Josie Maran gelee is beyond beautiful. I've used it many times on myself and I've tested it on my mother. Always looks natural, perfect, and slightly glowy.

This test led me to make two choices: I'm switching out MAC Fling for a darker brow pencil, ie MAC Lingering, because Fling is a bit too blonde; the Revlon lippy is beautiful (and almost a dupe for MAC Impassioned lipstick), but not all that versatile, so I'll be swapping it out for a lipstick that's easier to sheer out or layer on.

But yeah, if you want a nice satin lip pencil at an affordable price, I'd still recommend the Revlon ones. I got mine for $4 (on sale + a coupon), and it was totally worth it.

As a side note, I wanted to add some more beauty sightings! We're heading back to Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead...don't judge me, I love this movie. We're looking at a 1991 flick, so if you're an 80s or 90s aficionado, help me out!

Inside Rose's desk. Wow, that looks like Evian water...but I think it says "moisturizer" under there. Hun. Also, the white tube with the blue cap appears to say "Lash," so it must be some type of mascara. The blue bottle in the back is eye makeup remover.

Rose takes out here tray o' stuff. Obviously we can see a lipstick there, but I also spot a tube of foundation on the left side.

Mascara. Thoughts on what kind?

That's definitely part of a Revlon label on the left. Anybody recognize that blue container--looks like it might be powder?

A Week Without Foundation, Day 4; now with bonus empties!

You know, I'm starting to appreciate the "wow factor" of this whole no-foundation thing. I still wish I had some concealer on my discoloration and my horrendous undereye circles, but if you're going to do a statement lip, it's kind of...fun having nothing else to distract from it. A bit unbalanced in the eyes of some, yes, but I'd take an unbalanced Revlon Black Cherry look over something outta Showgirls any day.

Skipping foundation, concealer, and powder also makes my looks more cost-effective. Besides the $5 Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick, I also used my $4 Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes mascara, a very pigmented Wet n' Wild $1 brow pencil in Taupe, and the peachy Victoria's Secret gel blush I got on sale for $3. That means this look cost all of $13...and if it wasn't meant to be completely base-free, I would've used a bit of cheap-o concealer to finish it off.

Just imagine it with concealer, friends! Imagine those dark circles awaaaay!

ANYWAY. Here are some more empties, all skincare, all much-loved. I've gone through another tub of the Avon Nurtura night cream (which I always have a back-up of), the infamous Jack Black lip balm (not sure how many of these I own now), the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Body Treatment (which I currently can't afford a back-up of), and the L'occitane foot cream (ditto).

A Week Without Foundation, Day 1

I decided that if I was going to go without foundation, I was going to do the messiest, sloppiest, most unlike-me look I could manage: stupid amounts of black eyeliner and shadow. The carnage was far greater than I expected, and I maybe got a little carried away. What was originally just a smeary black line of kohl around my eyes quickly became a giant blob of greasy black cream products and super-thick lashes caked in product.

And I don't entirely hate it. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!

Of course, I ran through my entire skincare routine last night to get my face in top condition, which included the GLAMGLOW mask and heaps of Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream and Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. I also worked out, then showered, right before I put on my makeup, which is why my skin has a bit of extra shine to it (it's all clean and freshly moisturized!). But I still felt a little insecure when I saw how these pictures turned out. I thought maybe I should allow myself a bit of sheer concealer for my Undereye Circles of Doom, which are particularly stark against all of that black eye makeup...but I resisted. Ladies and gents, it's the first day of the Week Without Foundation, and I'm doin' fine!

I can already tell you one benefit of being foundation-less: I don't have to worry about product smearing on the nose pads of my glasses and I'm not fussed about touching up my face. Granted, I'll probably wish I had SOMETHING to mattify my nose in a few hours, but that's life.

And yes, my hair is totally dirty and slapped on top of my head in a literal rat's nest. Not too bothered by it, to be honest.

Maybe I should rename my blog "Bad Outfit, Great Lipstick, Unredeemable Hair."

Swap Haul

I have no idea why people are willing to swap with me. I always take FOREVER to send out my end. I get sick, work sucks my brains out, or--in the case of these past 2 weeks--HR makes a boo-boo and my direct deposit needs some fixin', leaving me with zippo money to send out packages. I'm JUST now sending out 2 packages. People have the patience of saints, I swear.

Regardless of my eccentricities, here are some lovely items I've received over the past 2 weeks from exceptionally sweet MUAers. There's some lovely new nail stuff: Revlon files, OPI toe separators (guess I have no excuse not to paint my toes now), some polishes, a great pair of lashes, mascara samples from Chanel and Anastasia, Urban Decay face and eye primer cards, and an itty bitty Benefit Pore-Fessional primer sample. I also received a lot of surprisingly nice skincare stuff by Clarisonic, Clarins, Burt's Bees, and Aveeno (this little bottle is going in my purse/work cargos!). The full-sized products include several Urban Decay sale items, which were an extra 20% thanks to Friends & Family: the Brightening Complexion Potion, YDK eyeshadow, and Confession lipstick. I also swapped for 2 pencils--Benefit D'Finer D'liner and a Shiseido corrector pencil in the lightest shade--and MakeupForever Uplight highlighter in #22.

Vanity: Becca

Vanity: Lipsticking Vicariously Through Others

Becca, Student/Teacher

I had a babysitter when I was probably 2 or 3 who wore a ton of makeup, very early nineties stuff, and because she looked so different from my mostly au-naturel mom, it was very interesting. She let me play with her brushes, and would (with mom’s permission, of course) slap some lipstick on me; then we would play “ladies.” Mom also got me the little Tinkerbell play makeup. My dresser at my mom’s house still has the pink peel-off nail polish soaked into the wood, and my favorite stuffed bunny has lipstick stains on its mouth 20 years later. And my older sisters got into makeup when I was about 5 or 6, and they thought it was hilarious to put makeup on me and take pictures with me. I got all of their mostly used-up lipsticks and eyeshadows.

I spend a lot of my money for "extras" on beauty products, but price-wise, I’m pretty firmly in the mid-end category. If I could buy all high-end, I’m not sure I would. Sure, I would splurge on some things, but my favorite brow pencil is Clinique, and a lot of my favorite skincare in the past has been drugstore. I am a pasty, pasty lady, so MAC Face & Body foundation is one of my favorite products because it comes in White. It’s also sits well on my dry skin. Bobbi Brown Skin foundation qualifies as well, shade-wise, but I’m not sure why I haven’t bought this yet. My inner Bobbi Brown aversion must be strong. The hunt for the perfect foundation consumes me. Some very evil people have shown me the lovely that is Rouge Bunny Rouge, and that’s gonna be an expensive endeavor. The Shiseido lash curler completely changed my opinion of lash curling. Now I can’t live without it, because it actually fits my eye shape and gives me a good curl. I also appreciate a good metal lash comb (I use Sephora’s) because I hate clumps, and MAC Strada blush, which will be replaced with Illamasqua Primal if I can find it. I contour every day. I’ve used up a couple of things, a foundation and mascaras. The simple reason I don’t hit pan on anything is ADD. I can’t wear the same thing all the time, it would be so boring!

My ideal nighttime skincare routine involves oil cleanser, rinse, toner, two or three serums, eye serum, night cream, and eye cream. (Luckily, I get a lot of stuff gratis; otherwise, I wouldn’t nearly use so much!) My usual nighttime routine is:
  1. Put pack of makeup wipes on bedside table.
  2. Climb into bed and remember I didn’t take my makeup off.
  3. Try to find wipes in the dark.
  4. Scrub.
  5. Throw makeup wipe towards garbage can.
  6. Fall asleep.
I’m ashamed.

My big problem is collecting. As far as make-up goes, if I get part of a collection/brand/etc, I NEED the rest of it. See: Sleek palettes/blushes, Wet n Wild palettes, Revlon Lip Butters, Clinique Chubby Sticks... I love chasing things down and finally getting what I wanted. Apparently, I played Pokemon at an impressionable age. I also collect books, wine glasses, and jewelry. I begin student teaching in January, so I guess grading papers will become a hobby.

I love history and languages, even though I don’t speak any well. I’m a certified rescue scuba diver and I’m considering becoming an instructor or at least a divemaster. I’ll move to Aruba. I love taking pictures, but I wouldn’t say I’m a photographer. I’m obsessed with my dog!

This project is greatly indebted to the Top Shelf section of IntoTheGloss.com, which was my inspiration, and to every beautiful person who participates. This article has been slightly modified for clarity and length.

Favorites: Top 5 Lipstick Formulas

In case my blog title didn't give it away: I'm a little lipstick obsessed. Sure, I go nuts for highlighters and own an unhealthy number of blushes, but at the end of the day, lipsticks are my go-to feel-good product. I can layer on eyeshadows, rub in foundation and concealer, draw the most precise cat-eye ever...but until I've got something on my lips, my face may as well be bare.

I did a version of this on YouTube a while back, and while I still love all of the formulas I listed there, I've tried some new things and found some even greater loves. The list also features a good mix, in my opinion: there are 2 drugstore formulas, 2 high end, and 1 mid-end. A fair warning, since everybody's tastes are different: I almost always prefer a lipstick that is creamy-but-not-oily, opaque, and wears for at least 3 hours without needing a touch-up. My lips also tend to dry out easily, so while I love a matte lipstick from time to time, I've finally admitted that they will never be the most comfortable or flattering formulas for my lips.

#5: Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains; semi-sheer to opaque; glossy finish.

Ok, so these technically aren't a lipstick. But they don't moisturize my lips, so they're not a balm, and they last for 4-5 hours while providing a whole lotta color, so I don't consider them a true gloss. They're essentially a glossy lipstick in a wind-up pencil form, which makes them great for travel. They apply smoothly and layer well, so you can apply one or two layers for a sheer wash of color, or keep building up the color until they're completely opaque. Overall, these are what I wanted the Clinique Chubby Sticks to be. Shades shown: Honey, Darling, Sweetheart.

.

#4: Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipsticks; semi-sheer to opaque; cream and frosted finishes.

I wish I had discovered these elegantly-packaged beauties sooner. The Pure Color lipsticks are creamy, dreamy, and oh-so-smooth. Most of the shades are opaque, but if you've got pigmented lips like mine, some of the nudes will require an extra layer. I obviously go for the cream finishes, but frosts like Melon are stunning if that's your thing. They've also come out with some derivative formulas (Vivid Shine and Velvet). The only reason these aren't higher on the list is because their staying power is kind of "meh": about 2-3 hours, depending on the shade. Shades shown: Pinkberry, Cherry Passion.
.

#3: Revlon Super Lustrous line; opaque; cream, frosted, and matte finishes.

Forget the Revlon ColorBurst lipsticks that everybody raves about: most of them apply sheer on pigmented lips, dry me out after an hour, and come in blah colors. Super Lustrous is where it's at. This formula has been a company mainstay for roughly 50 years (or 60--math is not my strong suit), and it's still one of the best products they product. I personally avoid the frosts, but they look lovely on others. Their mattes are some of the few I can wear, though I often top them with gloss to add a bit of moisture. The best are the creams, which are opaque, smooth, and available in a stupidly wide range of colors. The wear time on these varies from formula to formula and from one shade to the next, but they usually last for at least 4 hours before I feel the need to touch up. Added bonus: some of the shades have a matching nail polish available! Shade shown: Cherries in the Snow.

.

#2: Lancome Rouge in Love Lipsticks; opaque; cream and frosted finishes.

I didn't expect to love these so much, especially since their frosts are glittery messes (at least by my standards) and their lipstick shape is not the usual "tear drop" (am I picky or what?). But the wear time and overall look won me over. The flat shape of the bullet actually makes it easier to get a more precise application, and they can wear like iron for up to 6 hours. What keeps them from being my #1, however, is that they feel a bit more like a satin (meaning they're a smidge dry) and they wear off super-easily if you use gloss. Shades shown: 307 Sweet Embrace, 181 Rouge St. Honore.
.

#1: MAC Amplified Cream Lipsticks; opaque; cream finish.

At the end of the day, these babies are still the queens of my heart. They're completely opaque, come in oodles of beyond gorgeous shades, and last surprisingly long without feathering; I get 4-5 hours of wear before I need to touch up. They also don't fade much faster if you put gloss on top, though this can make the darker shades feather. Shades shown: Dubonnet, Impassioned, Chatterbox, Petals & Peacocks.

Nom nom, lipstick, nom!

And now, the face of the day! It's been a rough week for me, emotionally and financially, so of course I whipped out some red. Or rather, a lot of red. I seriously didn't realize I'd matched myself up that much, but hey, it definitely made me feel better!

BASE: MAC Face & Body foundation in N1 + Missha Perfect Cover BB cream in #13, Clinique Airbrush concealer in 001 Fair, Skindinavia setting spray
EYES: La Femme brow pencil in Taupe, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, DiorShow Maximizer lash primer; Prestige My Biggest Lashes mascara, Milani Liquif-eye eyeliner in Brown
CHEEKS: MAC matte blush in Frankly Scarlet, Estee Lauder Shimmery Jewel Powder
LIPS: Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick in #181 Rouge St. Honore

Porn: Favorites and New Stuff

Still using my sister's not-so-fantastic point and shoot camera until I can save up for one of my own or get the SD card slot in my computer working...and since I'm saving up for bus tickets for my SO's visit, that's going to take second fiddle for a while. Sorry, guys. :(

First, some new stuff! Not pictured are some non-beauty-clothing-thingies: chai latte K cups for the Keurig coffee maker (they're like crack, no lie,) and a nice wall shelf my mom got for $7. I'm going to use it to hold my beloved cameras. :)

I found a surprising amount of clearance clothing at a Gabriel Brothers sidewalk sale. The Bass sandles and the summer dress were $7 each, the jeans were $3, and the swimsuit bottoms were $1 each. Beyond shoes, you can't try anything on at a sidewalk sale--you purchase your items and have to take them to the car immediately afterwards--but luckily, I'm a pretty good judge of what fits me. :)

I've also been avoiding new makeup purchases, because again, I'm trying to sell some of my less-used items and buy bus passes for when my SO flies in to visit. But I was spending the day with my mother, and when we stopped at Ulta to look...well, I had a 20% off coupon. I grabbed the Lorac Baked Matte Satin blush in Exposed and the Essence gel liner in London Baby. I've tried an Essence gel liner before, one of the LE "denim" ones, and was very unimpressed with the formula. But I wanted to try London Baby because of the hype, swatches, and my understanding that I'd bought my previous pot on clearance. Sure enough, this pot was much creamier and lasted pretty darn well on a humid, 95-degree summer day and through a fit of tears (long story). I haven't tested the Lorac blush yet, but it seems to look gorgeous on just about everyone!

It's not pictured, but as far as skincare purchases go: I got a backup tube of my beloved Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream for $6 at TJ Maxx and 2 backups of my HG night cream, Avon Nurtura, during their recent BOGO sale.

And of course...Marilyn! My brother bought this for me at a sign shop in Myrtle Beach. It's obviously not a real vintage sign, just a copy, but it's the thought that counts. And what a great thought: anyone who knows me know I plan to have a woman cave with makeup advertisements and pictures of people putting on their face all over the walls. My parents actually bought me this beautiful poster last year as a Christmas gift, and I cannot wait to find a job, get my own place, and hang it up in a nice frame. :)

And now for some favorites! I've been really lazy about painting my nails for the past few months, but this mini Essie polish ($2) in Coat Azure has been my go-to for when I actually do put on some polish. I've fallen back in love with the Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue lipstick ($19.50) in Poppy Cream, an underrated red that is just perfect for a Marilyn Monroe look. I've also been digging the Revlon Just Bitten balm stains ($8), shown here in Charm and Sweetheart; I know that the formula doesn't agree with everyone, but I've had no problem with them changing colors on my lips and just adore how long they last without drying my skin out. My current favorite gloss is Butter London Lippy ($17) in Trout Pout, a beautiful bright coral pink that looks great on top of lipsticks or on its own. The ELF Essential liquid eyeliner ($1) in Ash is a surprisingly great find that I've really loved for simple, understated looks, as my usual black liner can be a bit harsh. Finally, I've only owned the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial powder ($42) in Candlelight for a few weeks, but I'm already obsessed with it and the incredible, lit-from-within glow it gives.

And I almost forgot to add...MOAR KITTEH!!!

Haul + BB Cream Swatches

This week started out tough, but it ended on a high note.  I found a product I've been searching for for MONTHS--the Revlon cream blush in Coral Reef--and received two very lovely packages full of samples from some Makeup Alley friends: an assortment of BB creams and a variety of eye creams (one of which is already upstairs with my nightly skincare stuff). I usually ask that such kind people send their samples to people who don't have as much as I have, but these lovely ladies insisted that they would do well in my hands, and I must admit that I was curious about these products. I thank them both for their generosity.

Of course, once I get new foundations, I have to go on a mad swatching spree. Anyone who is incredibly fair or dark skinned knows that finding a foundation match can be especially difficult, since most foundation ranges don't make shades that match us. I therefore try to swatch new products against popular standbys, like MAC Face & Body and the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, but, um...I may have gotten a bit carried away.

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT:
Etude Precious Mineral BB cream, shade 2
MAC Face & Body foundation, N1
NYC Smooth Skin liquid foundation, 676 Ivory
MAC Studio Tech foundation, NW15
Missha Perfect Cover BB cream, shade 13
Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, Sx02
Revlon New Complexion foundation, 01 Ivory Beige
Etude Collagen Moistfull BB cream, shade 2
Skinfood Red Bean BB cream, shade 1

I swatched these on the inside of my arm, which is currently somewhere between MAC N10 and N15. My face and upper arms are "tanned" (ha ha I made a funny) to something between N15-N20. The Missha Perfect Cover and Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer are usually the best matches from my N10ish skin, but now that I'm a hair darker, the NYC foundation and MAC Studio Tech are a little closer.

As this picture shows, the Collagen Moistfull is DEFINITELY too dark for me, but I think it might match my sister pretty well. The Precious Mineral is also too dark, but not as much as the Collagen Moistful; it's probably around NW20. The Skinfood Red Bean BB cream is actually a pretty good match for me, and as I only have one packet of it and plenty of time, I figure I'll try it out first. (NOTE: my Korean is pretty rusty, so I might've gotten the shades wrong.)

$20 Face: Comfort Zone Cat Eye

This month, the "$20 Full Face" challenge has gotten a lot of press on the blogosphere, Makeup Alley, and YouTube. I decided that--since I love cheap-o stuff like woah and have tons of it--I should jump on the bandwagon and give it a shot. The problem is...I've got a looooot of ideas for full faces I can create with $20 worth of makeup. Hence, I've decided to make it a blog series: whenever I feel like doing a $20 face, I'll post the how-to here and attempt to use my webcam to film the step-by-step process.

STEP 1: Screw around for a few hours and drink lots of coffee. The cutesy cup isn't necessary, but it adds elegance to the whole my-computer-is-in-the-dining-room thing, no?

STEP 2: Put on actual clothes, brush your hair, and wash your hands. Ding! We're ready to start with the makeup.

STEP 3: Apply Revlon New Complexion foundation ($8) in shade 01 Ivory Beige all over your face, including your eyelids, your undereyes, and the upper parts of your neck.

STEP 4: Use the left column on the Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone palette ($5) to get a simple gold eye with brown winged liner. Use the top shimmery cream on the inner third of your lid and as a brow highlight. Use the second peachy-gold color on the rest of your lid and blend it through the crease. Then use a tiny amount of the medium brown to darken up your outer corner. Lastly, apply that last dark brown color across the upper lashline. Wing it out as much as you like (I kinda wanted a big wing today, LOL!). Apply a very small amount to the outer half of your lower lashline and soften it up.

STEP 5: Apply some Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing mascara ($3.50) and the La Femme brow and eyeliner pencil ($1.50) in Taupe. Then take a really sucky, not-so-helpful picture.

STEP 6: Get a nice, creamy lipstick and apply it to your lips. I chose the NYX Round lipstick ($2) in Fig, but I was also considering Fire (a pinky red), Power (a light purple-pink), and Louisiana (a hot pink).

STEP 7: Rub some of the lipstick on the back of your hand, then blend it in to your cheeks, focusing primarily on the apples. Take a tiny amount of that light, shimmery cream shadow from the Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone palette and dab it on the tops of your cheeks as a subtle highlight. Notice that your cat is suddenly sitting behind you and make a stupid face at the camera.

LE DONE!

In other news, I have updated my blogsale and reduced just about all of the prices for the remaining stuff. I should also have the next round of packages all sent out by Monday, unless something awful happens, like the loss of a particularly valuable limb.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lacque Dragon liquid lipstick, Zoya Colbie polish, Revlon ColorStay foundation in 110 Ivory, Benefit High Beam

Photo Archives: Ye Olde MUA Images, part 1

In preparation for the big move to this lovely spot on Blogger, I have decided to post some of my pictures from MakeupAlley and attempt to list some of the products I'm wearing in said pictures. Be forewarned that some of these images are old, so I definitely do not know what I'm wearing beyond what is listed here.

With that said, let's begin! :)

MAC Kanga-Rouge lipstick, Rock & Republic Cougar lipgloss, Hard Candy Doll Face luminizer
