Lipstick Diaries #4: MAC Saint Germain and Faux

For Lipstick Diaries #4, I decided to try two very different MAC pinks: Saint Germain and Faux.

Saint Germain is the definition of pastel pink. It's an Amplified finish, so it's very creamy, pigmented, and comfortable. However, the white base makes it a bit trickier to apply than most Amplifieds. You'll definitely need to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying. Saint Germain is a strange color, but I've seen it look good on some people, particularly light-skinned folks with already striking faces. I personally find that it works best as a co-star: over top of a darker lip liner, blended with a nude to make it more pink, and so on and so forth. Wearing it solo for this photo was odd!

Faux is relatively new to me, despite the fact that it's apparently a best-seller and is commonly used to achieve the "Kylie Jenner lip." (I didn't find out about the Kylie Jenner thing until I googled "MAC Faux" after getting it, so don't judge me too harshly!) This is what I wanted Lipstick Queen Pinky Nude Sinner to be: more creamy than shiny, and with an overall softer, paler look to it. My mother is obsessed with this color on me, and I honestly love it. As a side note, Faux is much creamier than the average MAC Satin finish lipstick
