I am of the belief that everybody needs a great eyelash curler. That doesn't mean you have to curl your lashes every day: there are times when the droopy "bedroom eye" is particularly flattering. But having the ability to make your lashes look longer and your eyes look more open? Absolutely a must.
The Kevyn Aucoin lash curler was my favorite for a good 4 years (throughout most of my undergraduate career, basically) until it got broken and I had to replace it with cheaper fare. While I currently use a Shiseido curler I bought about a year ago, I remember my Kevyn Aucoin with great fondness. This is a flatter lash curler, so people who prefer a very curved/round curler may want to take a pass on this giveaway. That being said, I think a lash curler is a relatively universal and endlessly useful tool, which is why I wanted to give one away. :)

Entering is super-simple: comment on this blog post with a little message on your eye makeup hero. Who inspires you the most? Who encouraged you to try winged eye liner, or to brave the seemingly-scary world of lash curlers? (I don't recommend just typing up your e-mail; you're just asking for spam.)
Please be aware that there are some rules for this contest. You must be at least 18 years old and located in the US to enter. You must be prepared to provide me with your full name and address if you win. You may only enter once. Entries will be finalized on November 30, 2014 at 11:59pm EST. I will use Random.com to pick a winner. You do NOT have to be subscribed to this blog to enter, but I will announce the winner in a blog post, so it might help to bookmark BOGL for the next month if you've entered. If you do not respond to that blog post within a week, I will draw a new winner.
Best of luck, and thank you for supporting Bad Outfit, Great Lipstick!
NikkieTutorials is an amazing professional makeup artist in the Netherlands and she inspires me in a BIG way to go out of my comfort zone. She is actually the one who inspired me to get my first Tarte eyelash curler. Also into wearing dark hued lipsticks (scary!) She is def my spirit animal.
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for the opportunity to win!
Kevyn Aucoin, his books make me want to try every eye look. Also when you do your Pinterest inspirations it makes me want to try those looks as well.
ReplyDeleteSophia Lauren, Audrey Hepburn and many other fashion icons. I truly started playing with make-up watching youtube videos. I specially like lisa eldridge looks.
ReplyDeleteI get most of my inspiration from the horde of beauty blogs I follow, but most of all from BrightestBulbInTheBox.com and TheKittenButcher on Reddit.
ReplyDeleteOhhh I would definitely say Lisa Eldridge. I just love watching her video tutorials! As soon as I do, I just want to go on a beauty binge and try everything.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting such an awesome contest! xx

Collectively, I would have to say the ladies of the MUA makeup board are my heroes. Brands I've never heard of, things I'd be too scared to try (including a scary looking eyelash curler! You know, it's all very funny until someone loses an eye!) Thanks for the entry into the contest. For some reason, my comments always show up as "unknown"--but you know me!
ReplyDeletethanks, Nan (NanRx)
YouTube and MUA have encouraged me to try new things. Lisa Eldridge is also the reason I actually tried winged eyeliner.
ReplyDeleteI blame Youtube for causing my madness into the land of beauty. I started out learning & watching so much from Kandee Johnson & MakeupbyTiffanyd when they first started. They really taught me the basics, Mac, colors, blending, brushes, etc. Now years later I find Lisa Eldridge & Monika Blunder as 2 of the best inspirations to watch. Love them! Thanks for offering such a fab giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy first makeup heroes were the MUAs who did editorials for Vogue, Glamour, Harpers Bazaar, etc. I spent hours poring over the fashion pages but only paid attention to the makeup! Now I learn so much from the kind professionals who take the time to post on YouTube, especially Lisa Eldridge and Jordan Liberty. Thanks for the draw!
