It's been a month since I started Beauty Roulette. Let's see how I've done!
Two of my goals were to finish a body lotion and to give something a second chance. The lotion I finished was my Haus of Gloi Body Emulsion in Vice. The black Sharpie line shows where I started, so you can see I managed to use up quite a bit in 2-3 weeks time! I have several fragrance-free bottles of this product waiting to be opened, so I'm not too worried about finishing this one. Vice is a great scent if you love chocolate and coffee, by the way; it reminds me a lot of Montale's Chocolate Greedy perfume.
I gave MAC Blankety lipstick a second chance, but I just couldn't get it to work for me. I tried it over different lip liners, I mixed it with glosses...it's just too gray for me. I depotted the remaining lipstick in to a pot and sent it to a friend; I'll be keeping the tube for Back2MAC.
I'm also making good progress on my finish a deluxe sample goal with the Hourglass Film Noir mascara. I think I'll get maybe one more month's worth of usage out of this guy, since I wear it 2-3 times a week right now. The more I use this mascara, the more I like it: it's very black, has a comfortable and creamy formula, and rarely flakes. I still don't think I'm willing to pay for a full size, but I'll gladly toss more samples of this in to my bag when they're available!
I'm making steady progress on my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown, which I selected for my use half of any pencil goal. I know a lot of people on YouTube go through one or even two of these pencils every month, but I think they wear makeup more than I do, and I think they do a much heavier brow. While I still like this pencil, I'm starting to realize that it's probably a bit too dark and a little too finicky for my everyday use. I thought I'd use it all the way up by the end of the year, but you know what? I'm really missing my Shu pencil!
I've barely made a dent in Lipstick Queen Jean Queen, which is what I picked for my use half of a lipstick goal. This is probably because it was a bad choice to begin with. Yes, I often wear Jean Queen when I'm working...in warmer weather. Now that it's cold and the forced air heating at the college is drying me out like a prune, I keep reaching for tinted balms instead. Here's hoping I can get myself to use Jean Queen more in the coming months!
I've focused on using up my stash for about a year. I finished a lipstick this summer! Right now I an focusing on one lipstick and one eye palette each month, this way it's less boring and more things get worn! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda close to finishing MAC Ruby Woo, but something is holding me back. I think it's because I know I like Stila Beso more, but I'm weirdly attached to good ol' Ruby Woo.
