Confession: up until last week, I was using a paper plate as a vanity tray. I wanted to be able to grab a fragrance on my way out the door, but I was having an awful time finding a tray I liked, sooooo I improvised. I'm grateful that so many smart people reminded me that Etsy exists, because now I own a beautiful vanity tray that fits perfectly on my card catalogue. No more paper plates!
I really like Vanille Insensee for summer. I love vanilla and it's very light. My other summer fave is from Hermes, Osmanthus Yunnan. Someone described it in a magazine as "Hermoine Granger in a perfume" it's got the peachy-mimosa quality of osmanthus, tea, fresh mown hay, dry hay, books, and a hint of powder. It's both fresh, woody, and gourmand while keeping it light. Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt is perfect for times I don't want to smell like perfume. If you like Lady Vengeance you might like Eua d'Italie Paestum Rose!
ReplyDeleteI just got Vanille Insensee, actually! I'm not as blown away by it as everybody else seems to be--it smells a bit like medical bandages on me for a solid 30 minutes--but it's nice, and I could see how it could work for summer. Osmanthus Yunnan sounds right up my alley!
